We have been working with Strathmore properties for nearly 15 years, in that time we have been involved in over 50 projects within Strathmore’s offices throughout Edinburgh.

On this occasion when Sami came into our Newtongrange branch he was looking for something different. He wanted to give a wow factor to the newly decorated hallway in York place.

The building is over 120 years old and has many period features. The main hallway is the path to every office and meeting room, so the floor had to be durable and easily maintained. Amtico was the natural choice, Amtico Spacia Sherwood oak laid in herringbone was the chosen pattern laid with a walnut strip that ticked all the boxes.

The guys walked into an unexpected surprise on Saturday morning. An unlucky member of staff hadn’t noticed the fresh screed and had stepped all over it on their way out of the building.

As usual, the team took it in their stride. Rubbing down and re-screeding the damaged patch ready for the Amtico to be laid.

They fitted the floor on Saturday, finishing within the expected time scale and on budget. The client was thrilled with their fantastic floor and gave us the order for the same to be laid in the St Andrew’s Street office.
